FAQs on COVID-19 Vaccination in BeijingQ1What type of vaccine is used in Beijing? How to get inoculated? The vaccines used in Beijing are inactivated whole-virus SARS-CoV-2 vaccines, which prevent the COVID-19 virus from infecting and reproducing by using certain methods, and at the same time retain the activity that causes immune response within human body. Inactivated vaccines adopt traditional vaccine production method, which is mature, reliable and classic. Compared with other vaccines, inactivated vaccines enjoy multiple advantages: mature R&D platforms, reliable production technology, controllable quality and standards, good preventive effect, rapid development rate, easy for production at scale, and have internationally recognized evaluation criteria of safety and efficacy. Two doses are required for the inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccines. The recommended interval between the first and second dose is at least three weeks, and the second dose needs to be given within eight weeks. If the second dose is not scheduled within eight weeks due to special reasons, it needs to be administered as soon as possible to enable the recipient to get complete and full immunity.Q2Is it necessary to get vaccinated against COVID-19?Highly necessary!COVID-19 is a new infectious disease caused by a novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which is transmitted mainly through droplets and close contact. Almost no one has the immunity against COVID-19, and almost everyone is susceptible to COVID-19 infection.Safe and effective vaccines are the most powerful weapon against the disease. After vaccination, the immunity against COVID-19 will be developed within human body to prevent infection, and the number of severe cases and death rate can be significantly reduced. Currently, people eligible for vaccination, with no contraindications, should all be inoculated.Q3Are the inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccines safe and effective?China adopts stringent control standards for the research and development of vaccines. The entire process is strictly managed concerning the test, approval, launching, storage, transportation and inoculation of inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccines. Sophisticated cold-chain system is guaranteed for the vaccines, under which strict standards are followed for the storage and transportation. The vaccination institutions and medical staff have received specialized training and have been strictly examined. The vaccination will be carried out according to standard procedures.According to the interim analysis of the phase III clinical trials for the inactivated whole-virus SARS-CoV-2 vaccines used in Beijing, the efficacy of all these vaccines has met the requirements by the National Medical Products Administration, and the vaccines also met the preferred and minimally acceptable profiles specified in the WHO Target Product Profiles for COVID-19 Vaccines.  Data from monitoring suspected abnormal reactions in the clinical trials and from emergency use and large-scale vaccination for priority groups at earlier stage show that the vaccines are safe.Q4How to make an appoint-ment for vaccination?Districts in Beijing have made proper arrangements and took measures to ensure orderly inoculation. People who wish to be vaccinated may check notices issued by districts and make appointments through their employers or residential communities.Q5Can foreign nationals apply for COVID-19 vaccination in Beijing?Beijing has fully rolled out its COVID-19 vaccination for foreign nationals in the city. Following the principle of “voluntary application, giving informed consent and assuming personal responsibility for risk”, foreign nationals can make an appointment for vaccination through employer or residential community. After appointments are made, foreign nationals may take the jab nearby as arranged by local district authorities based on local situation.Q6Are COVID-19 vaccines free of charge?Foreign nationals who have joined Beijing's social medical insurance scheme may take the vaccine free of charge by showing due insurance documents on the vaccine taking site, while those not covered by the insurance have to pay 93.5 RMB per dose by themselves if they want to be vaccinated.Q7Are the current vaccines effective against new virus variants?Vaccine R&D enterprises have tested and evaluated the cross neutralization ability of vaccine immune serum against the currently collected domestic and foreign variants. The neutralization activity of Covid-19 vaccines granted conditional market approval by China has not decreased and no obvious compromise on the protection rate against new variants has been found. Relevant companies will continue to follow up on vaccine research and development. Based on latest global variants monitoring updates released by WHO, there is no evidence to suggest that the virus mutants can cause vaccines to lose efficacy.Q8What are the possible adverse reactions to COVID-19 vaccines? What should the recipients do should such reactions occur? The most reported adverse reactions include pain, induration or redness at the injection site, fatigue, and others include fever, headache, cough, anorexia, vomit and diarrhea. After each shot, the recipients are required to stay 30 minutes for observation on site and can only leave if no discomfort occurs. Staff will inform recipients about the common adverse reactions, cautions, health monitoring after injection, treatment advice and contact information. Should persistent high fever or discomfort occur, the recipient should report to the vaccination institution and seek immediate medical help.Q9Can people aged above 60 receive the COVID-19 vaccine?According to Technical Guideline for the Inoculation of COVID-19 Vaccines (First Edition), as phase I and II clinical data prove that the vaccine is safe for people aged above 60 and can provide some protection, it is recommended that people aged above 60 be inoculated with the Covid-19 vaccine.According to the overall national plan, Beijing has administered Covid-19 vaccines to some people aged above 60 who want to be vaccinated and are in good health. Next, we will advance mass vaccination steadily among people above 60 and people with chronic diseases based on the effect of vaccination among wider age groups.Q10Can people aged below 18 receive the Covid-19 vaccine? As clinical data of existing vaccines for people aged below 18 are not available, the Covid-19 vaccine is not recommended for this age group. Beijing will arrange vaccination for people aged below 18 according to the national plan based on the progress of vaccine R&D and the follow-up clinical trial outcomes.Q11Who are not eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine?According to Technical Guideline for the Inoculation of COVID-19 Vaccines (First Edition), the following groups are not eligible for the vaccine: those who are allergic to the active ingredients of the vaccine, any inactive ingredients, substances used in the production process, or those who had allergic reactions when vaccinated with the same kind of vaccine before; those who have a known history of severe vaccine allergies (such as acute allergic reaction, angioneurotic edema, dyspnea); those who have epilepsy or other severe neurological diseases (such as transverse myelitis, Guillain Barré syndrome, demyelinating diseases); those who are having a fever, or have acute diseases, or are at acute stage of chronic diseases or have severe chronic diseases; and pregnant women.Q12Who are not eligible for the second dose? The health conditions of the second dose recipient must meet the requirements of the Covid-19 vaccine. If serious allergies or adverse reactions of the nervous system occur after the first dose is administered and such conditions cannot be ruled out to be caused by the vaccine, then the recipient is not recommended for the second dose.If the second dose recipient is having an acute disease or is at the acute stage of chronic diseases, the second dose should be postponed.Q13What preparations should be made before vaccination? The recipient should have a full understanding of relevant information about the Covid-19 vaccine and the inoculation process at the vaccination site.Check whether an appointment is necessary.Bring your ID card as required. Foreign nationals should present passports and valid residence permits and make sure the documents are valid before the second dose is given. Those who have joined Beijing's social medical insurance scheme should provide due insurance documents. Please wear loose clothing for vaccination and wear masks.Q14What care should the recipients take when taking vaccine? Before vaccination, recipients should inform the doctor of their health conditions and medications they have been taking, and fill in the consent form faithfully; if there is a wound at the injection site, it is recommended to avoid the wound and get the jab in the other arm; after vaccination, the recipients are required to stay 30 minutes for observation; the Q-tips should be thrown into the designated trash can or yellow trash bag for medical waste.Q15What care should the recipients take after taking vaccine?Recipients should stay 30 minutes for observation and can only leave if no abnormal reactions occur. Should persistent high fever or discomfort occur, the recipient must report to the vaccination institution and seek immediate medical help.Q16Can the recipient drink and eat spicy food after taking vaccine?Normal activities and diet will not affect the efficacy of the vaccine, and there is no need to change lifestyle. However, when symptoms such as fever, fatigue or even nausea and diarrhea occur after vaccination, the recipient should adjust diet, have a good rest and avoid overwork, and refrain from drinking alcohol or overeating.Q17Can the recipient take a shower after taking vaccine? The recipient can take a shower after taking COVID-19 vaccine (and other vaccines). The immuniser often ask the recipients not to take a shower within 24 hours after the vaccination, and the main purpose is to prevent infection at the injection site and avoid or mitigate local reactions. After being vaccinated, some may experience redness, swelling or induration at the injection site. Recipients should refrain from touching, squeezing and irritating the injection site during shower, and keep it clean after shower.Q18Can the recipient relax personal precaution measures after being vaccinated?Vaccination will produce immunity from COVID-19 and greatly reduce infection risks. However, no vaccine is 100% effective; some people may have insufficient antibodies after taking vaccine and they can still be vulnerable to infection, especially when an immunologic barrier is not yet created. So it is important that you should wear masks, wash hands regularly, and observe social distancing even after the vaccination.Q19Are people with chronic diseases eligible for vaccination?People with chronic diseases are at high risk of severe illness and death once infected with the COVID-19. According to the newly released Technical Guideline for the Inoculation of COVID-19 Vaccinations (First Edition), people whose health conditions are stable and chronic diseases are under control with medication are not cautioned against getting vaccinated, and vaccination is recommended for them. Severe chronic diseases are contraindications for the vaccine, and people with such diseases cannot be vaccinated.Q20Are people who have recovered from COVID-19 eligible for vaccination?Generally speaking, people who had infectious diseases or asymptomatic patients have immunity, which should protect them in a way similar to the vaccine. Existing research data also show that re-infection is rare within 6 months after being infected with COVID-19. According to Technical Guideline for the Inoculation of COVID-19 Vaccinations (First Edition), if fully informed, those who had COVID-19 infection or asymptomatic infection can receive one dose of the vaccine 6 months after recovery.Q21Can people with allergies get Covid-19 vaccines?Technical Guideline for the Inoculation of COVID-19 Vaccinations (First Edition) clearly states that severe allergic reactions to vaccines (such as acute allergic reactions, angioneurotic edema, and dyspnea) are contraindications to vaccination; therefore, people should take into consideration the severity of their allergic reactions and follow the clinician’s advice.Q22Can women who are preparing for pregnancy get vaccination? How soon can recipients prepare for pregnancy after vaccination?Technical Guideline for the Inoculation of COVID-19 Vaccinations (First Edition) makes it clear that pregnancy preparation is not a contraindication to vaccination. Women or men preparing for pregnancy do not need to delay their plan due to Covid-19 vaccination.Q23Can lactating women get Covid-19 vaccines?Technical Guideline for the Inoculation of COVID-19 Vaccinations (First Edition) suggests that although there is no clinical research data showing Covid-19 vaccines have impact on infants of breastfeeding mothers, based on the knowledge of the vaccine’s safety, it is recommended that lactating women at high risk of infection to Covid-19 (such as medical staff) get vaccinated. Considering the importance of breastfeeding to the nutrition and health of infants and children, and with reference to international practices, breastfeeding women at high risk of infection to Covid-19 are advised to continue breastfeeding after inoculation.Q24Can people with immunodeficiency get Covid-19 vaccines?People with immunodeficiency are the group with a high risk of severe illness and death after being infected with Covid-19. Technical Guideline for the Inoculation of COVID-19 Vaccinations (First Edition) gives the following vaccination suggestions for this group: as there is no data on the safety and efficacy of vaccines for this group at present, and the immune response and protective effect of this group may decrease after vaccination, it is recommended that they get inactivated Covid-19 vaccines based on the safety record of previous vaccines of the same type.Q25How to obtain the vaccination proof after completing the whole vaccination process?(1) After inoculation of the two doses of Covid-19 vaccines, the status of “vaccination completed” will be shown on your Health Kit. Under this condition, you may click the “export or print proof” button at the bottom of the page to get the download link. (2) Copy and paste the link to the browser to download the electronic vaccination proof. (3) If notice pops up showing that the vaccination certificate has not been generated, please try again later.Source:BJ foreign affairs office

UCAS Cultural Festival boosted up Visit Nepal 2020Written by: Nitesh Khadka & Aruna Puri                               Edited by Pralhad GuptaNamaste! We are from a holy birthplace of Lord Buddha and towering Mount Everest. Nepal is a beautiful neighboring country of China, linked with mountains and rivers. Though the great Himalayas mark the boundary, nevertheless, two states have thousands of years of the historical and cultural relationship between the people and rulers of two countries. Nepal tied the formal diplomatic relationship with the People's Republic of China in 1955. The government of Nepal has aimed to attract more than two million tourists in 2020, disseminating the extraordinary nature, culture, and heritage of Nepal through a worldwide campaign— “Visit Nepal 2020”.On the auspicious occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, International Cultural Festival of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), 2019 was organized in Yanqihu Campus, Beijing, to explore the diversity among all the international students from over sixty nations worldwide. As usual this year among hundreds of students in UCAS, Nepalese students actively participated in the cultural festival with a stunning Nepal booth among the other 33 stalls promulgating the diverse culture, spectacular natural scenes, and heritage sites of Nepal. Nepalese students were dressed up in their national and different cultural costumes signifying Nepal as unity in diversity. The Nepal’s booth was decorated with numerous pictures, handicrafts, traditional Nepali clothes, typical Nepali paper made diary, puppets of Newari culture (Maicha and Boucha), portraits and statues displaying eye-catching natural scenery, snowcapped mountains, major festivals, the living goddess Kumari, and the various renowned Hindu temples and Buddha Stupas listed under world heritage sites. The cultural festival has provided a platform to make public Nepal as ‘Birthplace of Lord Buddha’ and ‘Land of Mount Everest (Sagarmatha/Qomolongma)’ among different nationalities studying at UCAS. The unique and peculiar triangular-shaped national flag of Nepal attracted the visitors. Visitors had a great chance to mingle and understand the culture of Nepal, and we offered 'tika' to them. 'Tika' is a red mark worn in the center of the forehead between the eyebrows, which symbolizes the victory upon evil in the cultural festivals of Nepal. Nepal always welcomes its guests as a symbol of god (Atithi Devo bhava: Slogan from Sanskrit). Team Nepal served typical Nepalese traditional food, such as Selroti and pickle made from fresh vegetables with little spicy to the visitors. The visitors were requested to visit or advertise Nepal for its tourism. A group of four beautiful Nepalese girls dressed up in national costumes stunned the audience. It left them in awe moments by displaying outstanding dance performance. They gave a continuous solo performance under the fusion of three different Nepali songs, one being 'Tamang Selo,' a song from indigenous people of mountainous Nepal. Here is the name list of some of the national heritage landmarks and iconic places in Nepal for tourists. IC-UCAS TEAM SHOWED A GREAT DEAL OF SPORTSMANSHIP AGAINST USTB FOOTBALL TEAM
IC-UCAS TEAM SHOWED A GREAT DEAL OF SPORTSMANSHIP AGAINST USTB FOOTBALL TEAM
by admin - Mar 16, 2019

Have you ever heard of Ronaldinho, a Brazilian former professional footballer and ambassador for Barcelona, who quoted “I learnt all about life with a ball at my feet”? If you are one of the keen candidates in soccer, I am sure you must have grasped this quotation with the heart of an entire universe.  In fact, as the saying by John Cruyff goes “Football is a game of mistakes. Whoever makes the fewest mistakes wins”. With this instance, it’s worthwhile to know what sports mean to sports’ lovers. We, UCASers carry a plethora of motivation, passion and dedication towards sports. Well, education is incomplete without sports. With that culture of our campus, we put on the football kits, and sweat hard on the ground for the fame of our university, as well as to endorse ourselves with the love for soccer. In fact, it’s more astounding when it comes to a friendly match between the teams from two different universities with people from nook and corner of the globe. It’s full of learning, not just about how to perform on the ground, but also about how to perform in life.     On Saturday, 16th March, 2019, the football team of the International College of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (IC-UCAS) played against the football team of the University of Science and Technology Beijing. The friendly match took place at the premise of USTB.The UCAS football team did not just go as a team, they went as a family, with other supporters and officials of the “International College “who accompanied them to extend their support and to add the extra charm to the event. During a pre-match interview, the interim coach of the team, Ivan Opara, expressed his optimism about the match. Obed Amissah, one of the players in the team, also stated that he was expecting positive outcomes from the friendly match.~The players having a pre-match warm upThe match was started at 10:00 AM and it was a show-time for the energetic and passionate players. IC-UCAS team started playing with great vigor as they were being cheered on by fans from the international student community who were standing by the sidelines.Although the football match was played away from home at the opponent team’s home ground, the IC-UCAS team showed a great deal of confidence and teamwork right from the very first minute to the first half of the match. By the end of the first half of the match, the team was down by one goal. The first half was very tough but the team members of IC-UCAS did not lose their enthusiasm and hope. As the saying goes, “Hope is a good thing and it never dies”. With a hope to come even stronger, IC-UCAS team tighten themselves to thrive up to mark and stand strong in the second half of the game.~Ritu Raj (IC-UCAS) in actionThe team used the half-time break as an opportunity to re-strategize and to make some substitutions. By the time the second half of the game started, the IC-UCAS team showed a great display of sportsmanship, earning themselves two sensational goals by Dickson Mbigi and Raji Ibrahim, which made them come right on top. The IC-UCAS team played with a lot of enthusiasm and passion for most part of the second half but they eventually conceded another goal and the score line was leveled at 2-2.The intensity of the match grew after some time and at the 69th minute, the IC-UCAS team conceded a penalty. The USTB football team used that opportunity to earn themselves another goal which made them come right on top. Well, it was a thrilling and heated atmosphere both inside fence and the supporters of IC-UCAS team went soundless after that goal. It’s obvious, because nobody wants to loose, and we all seek for win. This is because we attach a lot of emotional attachment to the team representing us, and a winning cause brings an increase in height of the fame level. However, we have to understand that without a defeat, win is not possible. It’s similar to every dawn falls after a dark night.~Dickson dribbles through the midfieldOn the pitch, you could see hope, passion, teamwork, sweat and good sportsmanship. Not so long, the IC-UCAS team earned a penalty kick when a mid-fielder, Obed Amissah was brought down in the 18-yard box, which could have made the score level but the penalty taker, Victor Charles, was denied a happy ending as the ball missed by just a few inches. The goal keeper, Cedric, showed a great deal of sportsmanship on several occasions as he saved many shots that would have resulted in a goal. Several other brilliant goal attempts were made by the team on different occasions but at the end of the day, the match ended with a score of 3-2. The score line does not tell the whole story. It’s not just about winning, it’s about trying to give your 100% and show an ideal sportsmanship.~Cedric (IC-UCAS’s goalkeeper) saves a shotThe match was not all about goals, it was much more. We saw passion, we saw a positive fighting spirit and we saw a team with an unshakable determination. Even when the match was over, though the IC-UCAS team members were not too happy with the score, but they were not discouraged either. We live to fight another day.~IC-UCAS International Football TeamDuring an interview with Dayo Oladipo, a member of the IC-UCAS journalists team, Didi, the captain of the USTB football team, said that IC-UCAS had a very strong team and gave them a very tough time on the pitch. The captain of the IC-UCAS football team, Raji Ibrajim, also expressed his opinion about the match, noting that he was quite satisfied because the game was fair and no one sustained serious injuries, and he expressed the fact that every member of the team played their part very well.~IC-UCAS football team players and fans from the International College communityThe match was indeed a memorable one due to the support of the Ms. TAN Yudong from the International College of UCAS, the ever-supportive fans, and due to the teamwork of these great players. Here is the list of IC-UCAS football team players.1. ChinaNov 13th in the evening, International College, in conjunction with Beijing Public Security Bureau (Huairou) organized a “Security” orientation lecture at the lecture hall, International Conference Centre at UCAS Yanqihu Campus. The seminar was hosted by Dr. Chen Feng, who is the director of the ‘International College Office’ at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Chen delivered a welcome speech and introduced the central theme and objectives of organizing the lecture session for current international students. The host invited Mr. Kou Xuochao, the deputy detachment of Beijing Public Security Bureau, Huairou Branch to address over 300 international students in the lecture. Dr. Chen also requested international students to strictly follow the rules and regulations of the university as well as the Chinese Government in order to have a safer stay at the campus.International students during the lectureDr. Chen Feng during welcome speech inaugurating the session The crowd welcomed Mr. Kou Xuochao with a thundering applause. Mr. Kou started his speech in a very emotional way, and pleaded to the international students to stay away from wrongdoings and violation of laws, rules and regulations in China during their stay at the campus.Officer Kou Xuochao addressing lecture on “Security Knowledge” to international students at UCAS“Mother always worries about her son and daughter who travelled thousands of miles away from home in order to pursue their dreams, and search for a better future. She always wishes to see her children come back home safe and sound. “                     -Officer Kou XuochaoInternational Students attending the lecture on “Security Knowledge”Officer Kou Xuochao formally started his lecture after the welcome speech by Dr. Chen Feng. He mentioned that the safety of all the international students at the campus is the prime concern of the entire bureau and the university. He requested everyone to protect themselves throughout their stay at the campus, as well as in China at all circumstances. Mr. Kou’s lecture was based on four major aspects of safety issues: (1) trouble safety, (2) safety issues as daily-life, (3) property safety, & (4) common violations of laws at the campus. It is highly suggested to know the emergency contact numbers especially when you are living abroad. The emergency telephone number in China is 110, and it is strongly advised to call at this number whenever, and wherever in China you need. Secondly, finding the police located nearby is another a note-worthy choice. Additionally, contacting the university is also a good-to-go choice for the students at emergency situations.Mr. Kou highlighted some cultural differences between China and other countries and pointed out some of the trends such as ‘prostitution’, ‘gambling’, ‘polygamy’ and ‘drug abuse’ totally unacceptable in China, which may be legal in many other nations. The second part of his lecture was focused on traveling and transportation-related issues. He suggested the students to stay safe from dangerous situations that might arise during travel in China. Mr. Kou further added to choose safe transportation modes such as public bus, licensed cars, licensed cab, and stay at licensed hotels which had gone through a severe background check and passed the security checks in order to guarantee the safe travels and outdoor trips. He pointed out an example of an incident which happened on early October of 2018, when an undergraduate Chinese female student was raped and then brutally killed to death by a car driver of an online car-hailing service. He also advised everyone to take precautionary actions such as sending the picture of driver’s license or car’s number plate while taking ride on cabs.In regard to safety issues at daily life, Mr. Kou told the students not to over-use or over-charge the electrical appliances at the dormitory. The excessive current use may cause the short-circuiting and can lead to a massive and threatening fire at the residential areas which is strictly prohibited. “It is the same day, when in Haidian District, an electric bike caught fire due to over-charging in the public area causing one death, and one injured afterward”, he added. He stated the precautions against fire hazards, also suggested solutions at the time of emergencies. Some of his points related to fire hazards and safety issues are as follows:Do not install unnecessary wires without a special permission from the campus authority.Do make use of excess electrical appliances, and plug out the appliances when not in use.Do not smoke on bed.Do not charge your electric bikes at the residential area without safety precautions. In case of any fire accident, contact “Fire Department” at 119 for the immediate help.In case of any fire accident, cover your mouth and nose by a wet towel, and escape from the affected site by the use of staircase rather than the elevators for a safer escape. Office Kou giving some examples of fire hazards caused by day-to-day life activitiesThe third part of his discussion was based on ‘property safety’ which basically is related to prevention against frauds which may occur in various forms at numerous instances.  He added that these frauds are categorized in various ways for example: (1) telephone frauds, (2) internet frauds, (3) shopping frauds, and (4) online wealth management frauds which can cause a serious property loss and there is a dire need for carefulness where these frauds are supposed to involve as a third party. The frauds can choose various ways such as robbery, blackmailing, lying, online cheating, and assessing the bank account with a victim’s username and password obtained through a kind of deception. The fourth and the last part of Mr. Kou’s talks was based on violation of university’s rules/regulations and laws of Chinese government. He expressed that the difference in ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, and beliefs, the life activities of some international students might be different and unacceptable if those activities could not abide the laws of Chinese government. He boldly sounded, “do not bring habits of your country to China”.According to officer Mr. Kou, these are the following cases which violate the rules and regulations of the police bureau, and is intolerable which may cause several penalties against the wrong-doers and violators such as imprisonment, fine, and deport to their own country.bullying and blackmailing the weak people, striking or hitting other, verbal abuse, damaging the property of the school, gambling on campus, spreading pornographic contents (for e.g. books or erotic pictures),drug carriage or drug abuse, sexual harassment, polygamy, etc.Mr. Kou highlighted said, “those who involve in the activities which violate the rules of the university and laws of China, are subjected to a heavy-punishment, unbearably high fines & compensations, detention, and deportation depending upon the severity of the violation”. At present, several cases of sexual harassment have been found out around universities in China. “Sexual harassment is a crime, and those who willingly or unwillingly act differently to women of the society upsetting the respect to women, will be considered as criminals, and are solely responsible for consequences. Such criminals are strictly punished by law, based on its own framework designed to maintain the ‘law and order’ of the nation”, officer Kou said. Moreover, he also warned those international students who are already married and try to violate the rules of China by involving in illegal polygamy which have been observed at many places around China. He ended up saying that the convicts/lawbreakers might have to face an imprisonment of minimum one year, dismiss from the university, and deport for forever from China.“Security concerns may arise in many areas. I have tried my best to point four of them. However, the most important message I would like to convey today among you all is to follow the rules and regulations of the country you are living in. I hope you all have a happy stay at the university as well as in China and wish that you return back to your country safe and sound”, he further added. After a very useful and informative session by office Kou Xuochao, the session ended with a thunderous clapping from the international students. He thanked wholeheartedly for making and greeted them goodbye with a great smile on his face.  MUST TO REMEMBER!“STAY ALERT, STAY SAFE, STAY HAPPY”Acknowledgment: A special appreciation goes to International College of UCAS who invited officer Kou Xuochao, a deputy detachment of ‘Beijing Public Security Bureau-Huairou Branch’ for giving a very beneficial session on ‘Security Knowledge’ among the international students at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.  Author: Pralhad Gupta (Student Journalist)Photos by: Mukesh Rai
