15 May 2026, Yuquanlu UCAS - The Fifth "Belt and Road" Initiative Learning and Exchange Salon, themed "Me & Xi's Time," was successfully held on the morning of 15 May 2026. The event was co-organized by the International College and the School of Marxism, aiming to create an open platform for international and Chinese students to exchange perspectives on China's development philosophy, togovernance model, and the real-life experiences of studying and living in China.
The salon brought together approximately 30 participants, including Dean Chen Feng of the International College, Deputy Secretary Jia Baoyu of the School of Marxism, General Manager Mr. Yu Fuwen of Chungxue Culture Co., Ltd.

A total of eight students — five international students from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, Kenya, and Peru, and three Chinese students, delivered short speeches sharing their personal perspectives on China's development philosophy.

Among the international speakers, the student from Sri Lanka delivered a particularly moving presentation. She spoke about how witnessing China's commitment to green buildings, low-carbon living, and nature-integrated city planning deeply inspired her. She shared that she came to China not just to study, but to find a way to give back to her own country, and she left believing that green development is not only possible but necessary for the future of Sri Lanka. Her sincere appreciation for China's ecological philosophy touched many in the audience.
Other international students highlighted China's strategic investment in talent and technology, noting how the country has shifted from "learning and catching up" to "parallel and leading" in frontier fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and quantum research. One student observed that "control over core technology is a symbol of national confidence," reflecting a deep respect for China's self-reliance strategy.

The salon also featured a musical interlude by students from India and Kazakhstan, a lively tea break, and an engaging discussion session in which audience shared their extended thoughts on the "China in their eyes" — offering honest reflections, personal stories, and cross-cultural observations. The dialogue remained warm, respectful, and engaging throughout.

The event concluded with a group photo of all participants, marking another meaningful moment of cross-cultural learning and exchange under the Belt and Road Initiative framework.
