2023 Summer School on Frontier and Interdisciplinary Sciences for International Students at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) Successfully held 2023中国科学院大学国际学生前沿与交叉科学暑期学校圆满结束In order to further strengthen the all-round and multi-dimensional development of international student education in CAS, and to actively practice the development initiative of "One Belt, One Road", the Summer School on Frontier and Interdisciplinary Sciences for International Students organized by International College of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (IC-UCAS) was held in Jinan, Shandong Province, from July 10th to July 14th.为进一步加强我校来华留学生教育全方位多维度发展,积极践行“一带一路”发展倡议,7月10日至7月14日,中国科学院大学国际学院举办的国际学生前沿与交叉科学特色暑期学校在山东济南举办。Group photo of the opening ceremony开幕式合影Zhao Fengwen, Secretary of Shandong Polytechnic, delivered the opening speech山东职业学院党委书记赵凤文致开幕辞The 4-day summer school attracted 15 international students from seven countries along the "Belt and Road". Zhao Fengwen, secretary of Shandong Polytechnic, introduced at the opening ceremony that as an engineering school with outstanding advantages in rail transportation and humanistic features, Shandong Polytechnic has already made internationalization attempts in the fields of ASEAN vocational education industry-academia-research, service for the construction of the "One Belt and One Road" and the overseas development of Chinese-funded enterprises. The expert team of this summer school, including senior engineering and technology teachers from Shandong Polytechnic, experts from local museums and cultural centers as well as the professional team of traditional culture dissemination, showed the international students the development history of China's high-speed railways and the development of related engineering and technology education as well as the Confucian cultural heritage of Shandong as the hometown of Confucius and Mencius, through wonderful lectures, on-site demonstrations and field trips.为期四天的暑期学校活动,吸引了来自“一带一路”沿线的7个国家的15名留学生参加。山东职业学院书记赵凤文在开幕式上介绍道,山职作为一所轨道交通专业优势突出、兼具人文特色的工科学校,此前已经在东盟职业教育产学研、服务“一带一路”建设和中资企业海外发展等领域做出了国际化尝试,此次暑期学校专家团队分别来自于山东职业学院的资深工程技术学科教师和当地博物馆、文化馆专家以及传统文化传播专业团队,通过精彩的讲座、现场演示以及实地参观等方式,向留学生们展现了中国高铁的发展历程和相关工程技术教育发展以及山东作为孔孟之乡承载的儒家文化底蕴。Railroad Engineering and Interdisciplinary Knowledge Integration铁路工程与跨学科知识融合The academic lecture series "China's Railway Development and the Construction of Related Specialties" officially opened the curtain of the summer school, covering the history of China's railroad development, high-speed railway assembly and construction, and focusing on the process of China's high-speed railway's start, development and maturity.《中国铁路发展及学校相关专业建设》学术系列讲座正式揭开了暑期学校的帷幕,讲座涵盖了中国的铁路发展历史、高铁装造建设等内容,重点讲解了中国高铁的起步、发展到成熟的过程。International students attended the series of lectures on China's railroad development and the construction of related majors国际学生参加中国铁路发展及学校相关专业建设系列讲座International students learned and understood the basic principles of high-speed railway operation, and conducted interdisciplinary discussions on the structure and related technologies of high-speed railway combining physics, engineering and technology management, etc. Meanwhile, the summer school participants went into the chemistry laboratory, high-speed railway parts manufacturing laboratory, fabrication workshop, high-speed railway experiential classroom as well as simulation classrooms of airports and subway stations, so as to have more intuitive experience and understanding of high-speed railway operation forms and speeds. Through practical participation and hands-on experience, they were able to better understand the profound heritage and rich diversity of Chinese culture. Participants learned different schools of Taiji and experienced the rhythm and philosophical spirit of Chinese martial arts; tried engraved printing, which plays a key role in the history of Chinese civilization, and understood the key role of printing in the accumulation and transmission of culture, including literature, philosophy, science, art and other fields of knowledge. They also observed the "Space of Chinese Characters" and gained a more intuitive understanding of the structure, writing, history and changes of Chinese characters; visited the Longshan Culture Museum and gained an in-depth understanding of prehistoric Chinese social life, the development of agriculture, the production of pottery, and learned about the major transformation of human civilization from nomadic herding to farming, as well as the continuity of China's history and culture.为增进国际学生对中国文化的理解,暑期学校精心策划了一系列文化体验活动。通过实践参与和亲身体验,使其更好地了解了中国文化的深厚底蕴和丰富多样性。学员们学习了不同派别的太极拳,体验了中国武术的韵律和哲学精神;尝试了在中国文明史上起着关键作用的雕版印刷,了解了印刷术在文化的积累和传承,包括文学、哲学、科学、艺术等各种知识领域起到的关键性推动作用;观摩了“汉字空间”,对汉字的构造、书写、历史和变迁有更直观的了解;参观龙山文化博物馆,深入了解了史前的中国社会生活、农业发展、陶器制作,了解了人类文明从游牧到农耕重大转变以及中国历史和文化的连续性。Learning Chinese Calligraphy and Mutual Understanding of Civilizations学习中国书法,开展文明互鉴Experience Chen's Taiji体验陈氏太极拳Experiencing the non-heritage program of engraved printing体验非遗项目雕版印刷术Visit Longshan Culture Museum参观龙山文化博物馆Multicultural Interactive Dialogue, Promoting Youth Friendship and Inheritance多元文化互动对话,增进青年友爱传承The summer school set up a cultural exchange program, allowing international students to meet face-to-face with students from Shandong Polytechnic, each introducing their own cultural background and hometown as well as what they thought when choosing their majors. Through the exchanges, the international students saw the good spirit of the new generation of Chinese young people, and felt the family and national sentiments surging among the young generation, which also allowed Chinese students to learn about their own country's culture. During the closing ceremony, Chinese and foreign students sang and danced, and showed the cultural essence of different countries in various art type. Fellow students:    Starting from January 1, 2020, the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences has officially launched a self-printing terminal for postgraduate transcripts. The specific notice is as follows:1. Service object1.1. Graduate students who enrolled in Beijing centralized teaching in 2001 or later can print their results during the Beijing centralized teaching on a self-service printing terminal.1.2. Graduate students enrolled in 2013 and later can print the transcripts of centralized teaching in the Beijing campuses and institute-level teaching through the self-service printing terminal.2. Charging standards2.1 Each graduate student can print one copy of the Chinese transcript with GPA, Chinese without GPA, English with GPA and English without GPA.2.2 After the free quota is printed, if you still need to print the transcript, you will need to pay 5 yuan per copy.3. Handling process3.1. Graduate students(1) Postgraduate students submit an application for self-printed transcripts from "选课系统"-"自助打印成绩单申请Apply for Transcript", and fill in the reasons for the application (see Figure 1 for details). (2) After the education management cadre of the training unit has passed the approval of "集中教务(培养单位管理干部)Centralized Educational Administration (Cultivation Unit Management Cadre Role)"-"成绩管理Score Management"-"自助打印成绩审核Self-Printing Results Review" (see Figure 2 for details), students can be in any of the campuses Self-service printing terminal swipe ID card, campus card or enter SEP platform account password to log in, self-service transcript.3.2. Graduated graduate students Graduated graduate students do not need to submit any applications. They can directly swipe their ID card or enter the SEP platform account and password to log in to the self-printing terminal to get their transcripts.4. Graduate students can choose to log in to the system by swiping their ID card, swiping their campus card, and entering the SEP platform account password; graduated graduate students can choose to log in to the system by swiping their ID card and entering the SEP platform account password (see Figure 3 for details).4.2. After logging in, the system will display the types of transcripts that can be printed, and you can select the required number according to your needs, and submit the order after confirming that it is correct (see Figure 4 for details).4.3. Other instructions6.1. The school does not provide envelopes for transcripts.6.2. If you need to issue an invoice, please contact the Finance Department (Contact: Teacher Chen, Tel: 010-88256213).6.3. The postgraduate students must submit an application in the system before printing the transcript, and the transcript can be printed after being reviewed by the training unit.6.4. The graduate student must preview the transcript before submitting the order. After verifying that it is correct, please carefully check the number of printed copies and the payment amount. Fellow students:In order to facilitate postgraduates to handle electronic transcripts, the school has developed a postgraduate electronic transcript handling system. Starting from April 30, 2020, postgraduates can complete the application, payment, and download of electronic transcripts through this system, without the need to apply for electronic transcripts through the email address designated by the Academic Affairs Department. The specific matters are hereby notified as follows:1. Service object1.1. Graduate students enrolled in Beijing centralized teaching in 2001 and later can apply for transcripts of the Beijing centralized teaching online.1.2. Graduate students enrolled in 2013 and later can apply online for the transcripts of Beijing's centralized teaching and institute-level teaching.2. Charging standards2.1. Each graduate student can download a copy of the electronic transcripts for Chinese with GPA, Chinese without GPA, English with GPA and English without GPA.2.2. Graduated graduate students       Graduated graduate students submit an application on the "电子成绩单申请Electronic Transcript Application" interface of the "选课系统Course Selection System" and fill in the reasons for the application. There is no need for the training unit to review and directly enter the payment link.3.3 PaymentEnter the order page from "电子成绩单申请Electronic transcript application"-"缴费Payment". Before confirming the order, you must preview the transcript, and carefully check whether the name, major, course and grades in the transcript are correct. After confirming that they are correct, click "确认订单Confirm order", "保存并返回Save and return" or "支付订单Pay order" (Figure 6, 7, 8).  Figure 6 Payment interface  Figure 7 Confirm order interface  Figure 8 Payment interface3.4 Download       After the payment is successful, the electronic transcript can be downloaded through the "电子成绩单申请electronic transcript application"-"下载download" interface (see Figure 9). From the date of successful payment, the course selection system saves the electronic scores for a single month. It cannot be downloaded for more than one month and needs to be re-applied. Figure 9 Download interface4. Other instructions4.1. From March 25, 2020 to April 29, 2020, if you have applied for an electronic transcript via email, the type of electronic transcript you applied for has no free quota.4.2. The graduate student must submit an application in the system before downloading the electronic transcript, and the fee can be paid and downloaded after being reviewed by the training unit.4.3. Each electronic transcript has a unique QR code, and users can verify the authenticity online by scanning the QR code; you can also open the PDF electronic transcript through the Adobe reader on the computer (don’t turn off the reader to update automatically). Click on the "中国科学院大学证明专用章Special Seal of Chinese Academy of Sciences University Certification" to obtain the signature verification status of the document and verify the validity of the transcript.4.4. The school is processing the transcript data of postgraduate students enrolled before 2001 who participated in Beijing intensive teaching. Electronic transcripts are temporarily not available. For those graduate students who need to apply for electronic transcripts, please contact the Department of Teaching Affairs.5.
