On the afternoon of March 12, at the beginning of the new semester, the International College organized its regular care and support meeting for international students. In light of the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, the Colleåge particularly invited seven students from Middle Eastern countries, including Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and Egypt, to participate in the discussion.

At the meeting, Vice Dean Chen Feng first briefly introduced China’s diplomatic efforts toward promoting peace in the Middle East during the recent “Two Sessions.” He then outlined the support services provided by the College, including psychological counseling and assistance for students facing difficulties. Following this introduction, the students shared their feelings as well as their recent experiences in study and daily life. During the discussion, faculty members and other participants frequently responded with encouragement and supportive feedback. The one-hour open and sincere exchange effectively helped relieve stress and anxiety that international students may experience under special circumstances, enhanced their sense of security, and strengthened their sense of belonging to the College. The meeting also contributed to fostering a safe and welcoming campus environment.

The care and support meeting is a regular initiative in the International College’s student services program, and more students are encouraged to participate in future sessions.
