On the morning of December 7 at 9:00 AM, the second HSK Level 2 Test at the Chinese Proficiency Test Center of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences was successfully conducted at the Yuquan Road Campus. A total of 121 international students from 35 countries, including South Korea, Indonesia, Cyprus, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Peru, and Egypt, registered for the examination.

Prior to the test, invigilators collected the test materials, student information forms, and other relevant documents in advance as required. After careful verification, they proceeded to the teaching building to prepare the examination rooms, post examination information notices, and inspect the arrangement of desks and chairs as well as the testing environment to ensure the smooth and orderly administration of the examination.

Examinees Taking the Test

After the exam, some test-takers shared their reflections on the test and their learning experiences.

Amin from Algeria said, "HSK 2 has helped me better express my integration into Chinese society and has equipped me with the basic language skills to communicate and explore in China. As a researcher, language is an essential tool for engaging with China's academic community and exchanging ideas and inspiration. I am very pleased to have had the opportunity to take this exam in such a short time."

Njeri from Kenya remarked, "The exam was not overly complicated, with an overall balanced level of difficulty. The invigilators were also very friendly and helpful. I hope we all achieve good results. Thank you!"

Hanzade from Sri Lanka commented, "The difficulty of this exam was moderate—neither too easy nor too hard—and the timing was well arranged. It clearly reflected my current Chinese proficiency. This experience was very valuable and has given me a clearer understanding of the areas I need to strengthen in the future."

This HSK Chinese Proficiency Test not only provided an important platform for international students to showcase their Chinese language abilities but also further demonstrated the effectiveness of the international Chinese language teaching at the International College of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). Vigorously promoting the HSK Chinese Proficiency Test is a key initiative by the International College of UCAS to further advance the quality of Chinese language education for international students.

It is reported that prior to the exam, Chinese language instructors from the International College provided targeted training for the test-takers. This included a systematic review and intensive practice focused on the question types, grammar points, and key vocabulary covered in the HSK Level 2 exam. Detailed explanations and demonstrations were also given on aspects such as the test format, answering techniques, and time management. Under the guidance of their teachers, the test-takers reviewed diligently, repeatedly practiced with mock exams, simulated real testing conditions as closely as possible, and reinforced their learning through mutual question-and-answer sessions and discussions with classmates and friends.
