School on Frontier and Interdisciplinary Sciences for International Students of UCAS is an innovative training program open to students from home and abroad and it is first initiated by the the International College of UCAS in 2014. The 2025 School on Frontier and Interdisciplinary Sciences for International Students of UCAS (Spring School) is jointly funded by the International College, he International Centre for Theoretical Physics Asia-Pacific (ICTP-AP) and the Alliance of National and International Science Organizations for the Belt and Road Regions(CAS-ANSO).  

The International College is a main base for the education and cultivation of the international students in UCAS, with the vision of further utilizing the advantages of science and education resources from CAS, accelerating UCAS and CAS’s internationalization paces, creating a diversified, international and academic atmosphere for the students here and there, and promoting the development of education for international students. With the tenet of “mutual administration, mutual governance, and common development”and embracing the philosophy of “International, Open, Comprehensive and Foresight” as its motto, the International College will continue to build itself into one of the most unique, integrated and internationally renowned colleges in the world. The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) is promoting “the Fusion and Scientific Research and Teaching” as its basic system of education in a high-quality way, while this Spring School will highlight the fusion of Scientific Research and Teaching and the Integration between School Departments and Local Industry to practice the concept of integrated training centered around education, science and technology, and talents.

The 2025 Spring School will be held in the city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province from 21st April to 26th April. This Spring School gathers the eminent teaching faculty from Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Sciences (HIAS) and high-tech entrepreneurs and senior engineers from Xihu district to teach the students about cutting-edge knowledge in Computer Science and Technology, Electronic Science and Technology, Quanta to Cosmos Physics and Space Science, Biology and Chemistry, and carry on technological and cultural activities. Meanwhile, the China’s Social and Culture Landscape Workshop for International Student Affairs Prosessionals will be carried out, facing to all international education and management faculty from the training units of UCAS. 

Followings are the details of how to apply for the 2025 Spring School: 

I. Registration Requirements

All senior overseas students and senior Chinese students of UCAS

II. Application Access

      a. Time: the deadline is 16th, April, 2025 from the day on;

      b. Login website: https://ic-en.ucas.ac.cn/form/259 for registration;

 c. Fill out the attachment 2025 Spring School application form for International Students; 

      d. Print the application form and ask for your supervisor’s signature;

      e. Submit your application form with your supervisor’s signature to your training units for review and approval;

      f. The International College shall be informed of the name list of the enrolled students and their student IDs by the date of 18th, April. In addition, please upload relative information of the teaching faculty for better arrangements.  

III. Enrollment Quota

40-50

IV. Acceptance and Funds

All training units( institutes, schools and departments)shall select out the students first and then decide whether or not to accept the student or provide relative funds. (Notes: Due to the limited quota, the name list shall not be released until approved by the International College.)
