The Frontier and Interdisciplinary Sciences Summer School for Oversea Students in UCAS is a global student innovation program jointly funded by the International College of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (IC-UCAS) and Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) Scholarship Project. The International College of UCAS was established in early 2013 to further leverage the scientific and educational resources of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, accelerate the international development of UCAS and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, create a diverse international academic atmosphere, and promote the development of international student education in China.

 

Frontier and Interdisciplinary Sciences Summer School for Oversea Students aims to foster exchanges between international students and world-renowned scientists, first-class laboratories, and experts and scholars in various fields on cutting-edge interdisciplinary subjects, enabling students to fully draw on new achievements and methods in similar fields within a short time and to form synergistic effects in scientific research ability structure and academic thoughts. Meanwhile, the summer school provides academic and laboratory collaboration opportunities, building an open platform for students' future scientific research cooperation.

 

The 2023 Frontier and Interdisciplinary Sciences Summer School for Oversea Students in UCAS will be held in Jinan from July 11th to July 14th. This session of the Summer School aims to promote international students' understanding of Chinese Confucian culture and modern engineering technology, with the transmission of oriental philosophical thoughts and the sharing of engineering technical practices as the main axis and strives to stimulate students' innovative thinking and practical abilities. Through cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary communication enhances international students' global vision, deepens their comprehensive understanding of China, and promotes extensive integration of Chinese and foreign cultures and scientific and technological techniques. The enrollment work-related matters are announced as follows:

 

I. Application Requirements

International students currently study in UCAS colleges and CAS institutes in Beijing.

 

II. Application Method

1. Application period: Applications start from today, the deadline is July 7th, 2023.

2. Fill out the " Application Form". Link: https://ic-en.ucas.ac.cn/form/163

3. Print the above form and have it signed by your tutor, and approved and stamped by the graduate department of your institute.

4. Send the scanned or photographed copy of the signed and stamped form to gaoyaoyao@ucas.ac.cn before July 7, 2023. Please name the email and the application form as "Your Name + Summer School Application".

5. Admission results will be notified via email on July 8, 2023, and the next steps will be informed. Please check your email.

V. Teaching Arrangements

The students report on July 10, 2023, and the Summer School officially starts on July 11.

 

VI. Cost Arrangements

All official students are exempt from tuition and miscellaneous fees, and provided with free teaching materials, and the International College will reimburse round-trip train tickets to Jinan (hard seat of normal train, second-class CHSR, China High-speed Railway or second-class CRH, China Railway High-speed.) and accommodation fees after summer school ends, students will need to pay for their own meals during Summer School.
