Resume:

Lei Li obtained his BS from China Agricultural University in 1994 and his Ph.D. from Gunma University Graduate School of Medicine in Japan in 2002. In 2003, he became a visiting fellow, then as a research fellow at National Institutes of Health (NIH) in USA where he mainly worked on mouse pre-implantation embryogenesis and ovarian development in the laboratory of Jurrien Dean. He established his independent research group in 2009 at the State Key Laboratory of Stem Cell and Reproductive Biology, Institutes of Zoology/Chinese Academy of Sciences. By using genetics, embryo culture and ES cells as model systems, Dr. Li's researches focus on molecular basis of early embryonic development.

Research Interests:

1) Maternal control of mammalian early embryogenesis.
2) Cell lineage specification of early embryonic development.
3) Molecular mechanism of mammalian gametogenesis.

Awards and Honors:

1) CAS“100 Talents”Program Recipient (IOZ/Chinese Academy of Sciences, China), 2009
2) NIH Fellows Award for Research Excellence (NIH, USA), 2007, 2008
3) Scientific Director Fellowship Award (NIDDK/NIH, USA), 2005
4) NIH Visiting Fellowship (NIH, USA), 2003-2008
5) Postdoctoral Fellowship for Foreign Researchers (JSPS, Japan), 2002-9/2003
6) Yoneyama Doctor Course Scholarship (Rotary Yoneyama Memorial Foundation, Japan), 4/2001-3/2002

Research Grants:

The National Basic Research Program of China (2011CB944501), 2011-2016.
National Natural Science Foundation of China (30971655), 2010-2012.
Grants of CAS “100 Talents” Program (Chinese Academy of Sciences), 2009-2012.
