On Teacher's Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the invaluable contributions of educators, I would like to share a personal story that touched my heart. It is a story of resilience, camaraderie, and the profound impact a teacher can have on a student's life.

During this particular Teacher's Day, fate took an unexpected turn for me. While working out at the gym, I suffered a dislocated shoulder and a torn cuff, which left me in excruciating pain and uncertainty. It was a moment of distress, far away from my homeland, Iran, in the heart of China, where I am pursuing my studies in atmospheric physics.

As soon as I felt the need for guidance and assistance, my friends immediately contacted my professor, the esteemed Professor Zhang (Institute of Atmospheric Physics, CAS). What happened next was a display of true compassion and mentorship. Professor Zhang rushed to my side without hesitation, accompanied by his caring wife, resembling a father figure offering solace and support.

Reflecting on this experience now, I am humbled by the immense kindness shown to me by Professor Zhang. On a day dedicated to celebrating teachers, I only had to offer a burden, a trouble that weighed heavily on my conscience. However, this ordeal taught me a profound lesson about the bonds of friendship and the importance of harmony, especially during life's most trying moments.

Through Professor Zhang's kindness and goodwill, I did not feel like a stranger in a foreign land miles away from my homeland. He embodied the kindness and friendliness of the Chinese people, serving as a beacon of ethics and goodwill.

In the tapestry of life, teachers like Professor Zhang weave threads of wisdom, compassion, and guidance. on Teacher's Day, I, Atefeh Gholami, express my deepest appreciation to Professor Zhang and all educators who mold minds and inspire hearts. Your selflessness and dedication light the way for students like me, and we are forever grateful for that.
